パープルへイズのスタンドを持つフーゴ
「JOJO A GO GO!」という愛蔵本では、のちのち
フーゴは主人公たちの敵として登場させる気持ちは
あったが、最初仲間で信頼していたメンバーが裏切る、
ってことが重くて嫌でできなかった
そのため戦線離脱させたと荒木は語っているが

実は地下鉄サリン事件とかがあった後で
苦情が数件きて打ち切りなりかけた
設定上ヤバいから作者が意図的にストーリーから外した、と
三人くらいの漫画家にインタビューした雑誌で荒木本人が語ってた

ジャンプの52号はだいたい12月初頭に発売される
パープルヘイズの登場は連載から3ヶ月くらいたってから
パープルヘイズの能力は映画のザ・ロックからインスパイアされている（緑の玉の兵器）

小説版では裏で主人公達を助ける役割だったが
ゲーム版、黄金の風ではやはりそのままフェードアウト
